6 Unhealthy Sleeping Habits you should Stop


Sleep is very important to the body and I don't think this point can be overemphasized. So much muscles are relieved and at rest during sleep. Sleep revitalizes our body, However, over time some of us have formed sleep habits that aren't healthy and little as they seem these habits could be very dangerous to our well-being.
In this post I would go ahead to highlight some of such harmful habits which affect our health negatively.




NOT SLEEPING:
The number one unhealthy Sleeping habits you should stop is not sleeping. Yes this is so because your body does a lot of work during the day and it therefore needs a time to rest. Working on night shifts isn't an excuse to boycott sleep,  You can find enough time to sleep during the day to complement for your sleepless night.


EATING LARGE AT DINNER: 
There is a saying that goes this way "eat like a king in the Morning, A Prince in the afternoon and a baby in the night". Eating too much just before bed will result in inconveniences before and during sleep, owing to the fact that your food needs to digest properly. I'm sure many of us have had experiences with this one time or the other and we know it's not a good one.


DRINKING COFFEE BEFORE BED
Do i need to say again that caffeine isn't a good beverage to take before going to bed. Caffeine is  a stimulant and it can stay in the body for up to 12hours and it forcibly tries to keep us awake during the hours we are supposed to be sleeping soundly in bed.


DRINKING ALCOHOL BEFORE BED
Just like caffeine alcohol isn't a good night drink. Alcohol disrupts your sleep later in the night and might leave you sleepless.


TAKING OUR GADGETS TO BED:
Many of us are guilty of this. We just want to check our mails for the last time before going to bed. But gadgets and phones in particular have a huge negative impact on our sleep as they prevent our brains from shutting down.


SLEEPING WITH PHONES UNDER THE PILLOW: 
Majority of us are also used to this. But its not the best, your phone emits unhealthy radiations that should be kept away from the body.  Get an alarm clock to place  your bed side, They aren't very costly and I'm sure you will find one to suit your budget.
